SSH CENTRE online panels

Based on Debating Europe’s discussions on climate issues with 160 citizens from across Europe, focusing on their thoughts on 4EU missions, SSH CENTRE, in liaison with Friends of Europe and Debating Europe, will be running a series of online panels aimed at discussing essential Green Deal topics to understand the new waves of citizen engagement and how EU policies can be aligned with local and national actions.

Easy move: Smoother Journeys, Better Cities, Happier Citizens

This first panel discussion addressed how public transport has been critical to making cities smarter, cleaner, and more citizen-friendly.

Drawing on the expertise and experience of those at the forefront of the future of urban mobility, and moderated by Alessandra Cardaci, the discussion explored how technology and policy can liaise to generate greener initiatives and, consequently, urban environments.

EU’s road to fair climate adaptation: citizen voices and local impact

Dive into the heart of the EU’s mission on Adaptation to Climate Change in this enlightening session, where leading voices explore how regions, cities, and local authorities are building resilience against climate challenges.

Through dynamic discussions, our panel delves into sustainable and inclusive solutions that drive climate justice, ensuring a fair and resilient future for all.

Healthy Soils, Sustainable Future: A Citizen Focused Dialogue

To establish 100 living labs and transition to healthy soils by 2030, this discussion emphasizes the importance of soil biodiversity, pollution reduction, and resilience.

Explore innovative solutions for soil communities, including farmers and winemakers, to restore degraded lands and enhance ecosystems. Learn about the hidden potential of soil biodiversity, the challenges of tackling soil pollution, and the importance of empowering citizens to sustainable practices.

EU’s road to fair climate adaptation: citizen voices and local impact

This session, inspired by the EU mission Restore Our Oceans and Waters, highlights the role of the private sector in maritime conservation, explores strategies to scale and adapt local best practices for managing water resources, and examines ways to effectively engage citizens in safeguarding oceans and waters.

Through research, innovation, citizen engagement, and blue investments, this initiative aims to protect vital aquatic ecosystems and drive sustainable practices.
