Highlighting SSH CENTRE’s Role in Addressing Climate Change
We are thrilled to announce that Professor Rosie Robison from the Global Sustainability Institute, Anglia Ruskin University, and co-coordinator of the SSH CENTRE project, was recently featured in a 25-minute radio segment on Deutschlandfunk, a prominent German radio and podcast platform. The segment, released on October 31st under the title “Global Warming: Is the Climate Crisis a Blind Spot in Sociology?”, delves into the critical issue of climate change and its underrepresentation in sociological research in Germany.
In her interview, Prof. Robison emphasized the SSH CENTRE project’s aim to foster interdisciplinary research and enhance collaboration between social sciences and humanities (SSH), and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. She stated, “We are exploring how SSH and STEM researchers can collaborate more effectively and how they can better engage with the policymakers.”
Robison proudly highlighted key SSH CENTRE activities, including the recent publication of three books, a collaborative effort by 154 researchers from 23 European countries. Each book presents approximately 10 key policy recommendations, focusing on a specific aspect of the Green Deal. “These recommendations result from interdisciplinary research that brings together experts from SSH and STEM,” emphasized Prof. Robison.
We invite you to listen to the full radio segment here (in German, with Prof. Robison’s quotes in English) and join us in celebrating this achievement of SSH CENTRE’s dissemination efforts.
